In Chinese culture, the vermilion bird is a mythical creature that represents both the south and the summer season. Vermilion Art is an independent gallery primarily focusing on contemporary Chinese art.

Contemporary Chinese art is at the forefront of the contemporary art scene internationally. The wellspring of this movement draws both from China’s grand and ancient civilisation and the rapid and significant societal changes in recent decades. Like the swallows that used to nest in the halls of mansions and now fly into the houses of common people, we believe art is for everyone.
