THE NEW STANDARD GALLERY

Located on Riley St in Surry Hills, Sydney, The New Standard Gallery exhibits and represents both emerging and established contemporary artists from across the globe.

After the iconic Hughes Gallery's closing in 2015, former managers Phillippa Griffin and Sam Ramsden started to plan a contemporary art space to fill the void the closure left in vibrant Surry Hills. Building from the experience and support of Ray and Evan Hughes, The New Standard Gallery strives to fuse the traditional models of established Australian art galleries with a new, contemporary approach toward the globalised art world.

By introducing exciting International and Australian artists alongside each other, TNSG aims to build a bridge between the two directors’ hometowns, Sydney and Berlin.

With a stable of artists from Australia, New Zealand, North America and Europe, a combined 16 years' industry experience and a hunger for art and discovery, we aim to inspire the same feelings in everyone who walks through our doors.
