Art Month Appoints Kate Britton As Artistic Director Of The 2018 Festival
Art Month Sydney will return in March 2018 and planning has started with the appointment…
7 NovEnjoy a guided tour through the City of Sydney’s public art collection and discover City Art’s most loved and best hidden public artworks.
Come along for a walking tour of public art in the CBD! We’ll be looking
at a mix of works you may have seen in passing during your commute to work and
others that you likely didn’t know existed. We’ll get a chance to talk about
the the histories of these works, why they were commissioned and the politics
of having private and pubic organisations commission art for the public sphere.
We will meet at 10am at the Archibald Fountain by Francois Sicard in Hyde Park
and during the tour we'll encounter works such as I Stay (Ngaya Ngalawa)
by Jenny Holzer at 8 Chiefley Square and Youngsters by Caroline Rothwell on
George Street.
