Art Month Members end of year Private Collection Tour

On Thursday 27th of November, Art Month Members were invited into the beautiful Sydney home of a seasoned collector for an intimate viewing of their collection. 

Gallerist Michael Reid led an informal tour that brought the collection alive, with insights about selected works and the collection as a whole. Artists Joan Ross, Lionel Bawden and Tim Moore, each of whom have numerous works included in the collection, were special guests on the night. They each spoke about what it’s like to have their work included in such a strong and personal collection - the experience of seeing their works juxtaposed with unexpected contemporaries and luminaries, the re-visiting of works they’d not seen in years, and the relationship that evolves between artist and collector. Bawden commented that it was a joy to see one of his early works included in a collection that had been put together with such enjoyment and enthusiasm, and that was such an important element of the family's life.
